Terms & Conditions

Assumption of Risk & Limited Liability

By submitting any trading card, collectible card, or similar item (“Item”) to The Card Spa for cleaning, restoration, grading preparation, evaluation, or any other service, the Customer acknowledges and agrees to the following:

  1. Voluntary Submission. The Customer is voluntarily requesting that The Card Spa perform services on the submitted Item and understands that these services involve physical handling of the Item.
  2. Inherent Risks. The Customer acknowledges that all card preparation, cleaning, restoration, and grading preparation services carry inherent risks. Due to differences in card manufacturing, age, condition, previous alterations, materials, and hidden defects, unforeseen changes or damage may occur during the normal course of performing these services, even when reasonable care and industry-accepted practices are followed.
  3. Assumption of Risk. The Customer knowingly accepts these inherent risks and understands that submitting an Item for service is done at the Customer’s own discretion.
  4. Limited Liability. The Card Spa shall not be responsible for any loss, alteration, reduction in grade, cosmetic change, or damage to an Item resulting from the inherent risks associated with the requested services when those services are performed using reasonable care and accepted industry practices.
  5. Negligence Exception. Nothing in these Terms limits The Card Spa’s responsibility for damage that is directly caused by The Card Spa’s negligence, gross negligence, or mishandling of an Item. If such negligence or mishandling is determined to have occurred, The Card Spa’s liability shall be limited to the fair market value of the Item immediately prior to the damage, as reasonably determined by available market data.
  6. No Guarantee of Grading Outcome. The Card Spa does not guarantee any grading result, numerical grade, increase in value, or improvement in appearance. Grading decisions are made solely by the grading company selected by the Customer.
  7. Acceptance of Terms. By placing an order, shipping an Item to The Card Spa, or authorizing work to begin, the Customer confirms that they have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
